Rope skipping Start Poses

Hello skippers!

Let’s take a break from skipping and strike a pose! Freestyle rope skipping is like dancing, but with a rope. In freestyle rope skipping, you will notice that the skipper will be poised in a starting pose before their skipping performance.

If you are exploring freestyle rope skipping, I have some simple start poses here.

Step on the rope with one foot, and extend your arms.  Simply step over and begin skipping!

Step on the rope and cross your arms.

Step on the rope with one foot and extend your arms both to one side, with one arm behind your back.

Wrap one leg around the rope & extend arms out. To get out of this position, you have to turn a full round to get your leg unwrapped. Some skippers use this in the midst of their routine as a form of leg wrap.
