Now that you have learnt how to perform the basic bounce, you can also use the 3-Step Breakdown to learn the Backward Bounce – which is just the basic bounce, but you turn your rope backwards instead.
This week, I would like to introduce the 180 and 360 jumps. The 180 and 360 are basic jump rope skills that are made up of forward and backward bounces. They add dimension and variety to your basic jumps.
Watch the video here!
Some tips to perform the 180 and 360 successfully:
- Perform the jump, followed by the turn. Do not attempt to jump AND turn at the same time.
- As you turn, keep your handles in front of your body.
- Repeat “Forward, turn, backward, turn, forward” to yourself as you attempt the jumps.
